Double‑layer fusion‑bonded epoxy (FBE) coated steel pipe is a heavy‑duty anti‑corrosion pipeline. Two separate layers of fusion‑bonded epoxy powder are sprayed and thermally cured on the outer wall of steel pipe. Spiral‑welded, straight‑seam and seamless steel pipes are optional as base tubes.
After shot‑blasting and pre‑heating, the first anti‑corrosion base layer is applied, followed by a second outer protective layer. The thicker composite coating delivers superior impact‑resistance, abrasion‑resistance, chemical‑resistance and outstanding cathodic‑disbondment resistance. The total coating thickness is normally 600‑1000μm.
Double‑layer FBE is designed for harsh, highly‑corrosive underground environments. It is the preferred anti‑corrosion solution for directional drilling, river‑crossing sections, rocky soil, coastal saline‑alkali land and other demanding working conditions.
Strict quality inspections including coating‑thickness testing, holiday spark‑leakage detection and adhesion test are carried out before delivery. It is widely used for long‑distance oil & gas trunk pipelines, cross‑river / cross‑highway buried pipelines, offshore landfall pipelines and high‑corrosion‑risk pipeline projects.
